From the foster: Summit (puppy #545) is a young outdoor enthusiast who is eager to meet some fellow naturalists! Since arriving at foster camp, she has been eager to participate in all outdoor activities offered - sprinting around and playing tag with her fellow campers in the yard, carefully investigating all of the emerging flora, taste-testing branches and sticks, and best of all, frolicking in the snow (she has an extra gear that emerges in winter conditions!). She's been a very considerate camper, only chewing on her designated toys (plus sometimes her sister's tail), doing her business outside (she mastered the dog door on the first day), and sleeping soundly through the night in her crate (although she prefers that the camp counselor is sleeping it in the same room). All of those activities demand a big appetite, and she is usually the first one to join the clean plate club. She gets a little bit nervous around new people at first (and sometime sings to calm her nerves) but gets comfortable quickly and, once approved, she is eager to settle into their laps for some snuggles and perhaps a nap.
Might there be room for a curious nature-lover around your campfire? If so, please come and meet Summit!

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The shepherd dog breed encompasses a versatile group known for their intelligence, loyalty, and strong work ethic. With a heritage deeply rooted in herding and protecting livestock, shepherds excel at various tasks ranging from obedience and agility competitions to search and rescue missions. Their protective nature makes them excellent family pets, offering unwavering devotion and a natural instinct to watch over and care for their loved ones. In addition to their remarkable abilities, shepherds are often characterized by their distinctive appearance, including a sturdy build, alert expression, and a signature double coat that provides insulation and protection in various climates.
