Pup-sonality:
Millie is an adorable girl with the perfect blend of curious, playful, and laid-back. She loves exploring the world, going for walks, and spending time with her people, but she's just as happy finding a cozy spot on the kitchen floor while you prepare dinner.

Millie is a sweet soul who has already stolen her foster family's hearts. In fact, if they didn't already have two dogs, they would adopt her themselves!

Millie loves being around people and enjoys popping over for cuddles, pets, and attention. She'll happily greet you when you come home with an excited bark, a wagging tail, and perhaps a little jump to say, “YOU'RE BACK!”

Once the excitement settles, she's content to do her own thing. She might find a bone to chew, explore the backyard, or settle down nearby while you go about your day. She enjoys everyone in the household and doesn't seem to have just one favourite person.

One of Millie's cutest qualities? She takes treats incredibly gently and is happy to share treat time with her foster sister. She's also perfectly content to hang out while the family eats, politely watching the action without begging.

Millie LOVES her walks and exploring the backyard. Her nose often leads the way, especially when an interesting smell catches her attention! She's still learning her leash manners and can pull or dart toward exciting scents, but she's already making progress.

She also has some opinions about the neighbourhood. People and dogs passing nearby can inspire a chorus of barks, whether she's on a walk, in the car, or watching from the window. She's improving with practice and positive reinforcement.

A few things to know about Millie

She enjoys car rides
The kitchen floor is her favourite spot. Nice and cool and around people
She is fully house-trained and will settle in her crate fairly quickly when its time to relax

Millie can be nervous when meeting new people and dogs, and she does best when she has time to warm up. She may bark at first, but she often settles once she realizes and is reassured that everything is okay.

Millie does well with smaller dogs, She is lives peacefully alongside a small dog who isn't particularly interested in playing. Larger dogs and unfamiliar dogs can be more challenging, especially if they approach quickly or startle her. We feel she would enjoy having a friendly smaller dog around for companionship and reassurance.

Millie has shown interest in chasing cats, squirrels, and rabbits, so a home without cats may be the safest fit unless a careful assessment shows otherwise.

Millie thrives on consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement. She's already learning new skills, including the “sit” command, and she has plenty of potential to keep growing.

Millie may bark when left alone, particularly when crated, so she will benefit from a family willing to help her build confidence with gradual, positive alone-time practice. She isn't destructive in general, although tempting pillows and toys are best supervised.

She also enjoys being brushed and tolerates having her eyes cleaned. She can be reluctant to have her mouth handled or her nails trimmed, so gentle handling, treats, and patience will help her become more comfortable.

Millie has seasonal allergies, which her forever family should be prepared to manage with veterinary guidance.

Millie is looking for a loving, predictable home with people who will help her feel safe as she discovers new things. She would do best with a family who can provide regular walks, backyard adventures, enrichment, and ongoing positive-reinforcement training.

She doesn't need someone who is constantly on the go. Millie loves an adventure, but she also knows how to relax and enjoy the simple things in life.

Millie is a wonderful mix of busy little explorer and peaceful companion. Give her consistency, patience, and a little time, and you'll discover the affectionate, friendly dog her foster family has come to adore.

Millie is ready for her next adventure, could it be with you?

Medical Note: Millie received a Pro Heart 12 injection on July 25, 2026. Pro Heart 12 protects against heartworm disease for 12 months. She will only require Nexguard each month for flea/tick prevention until June 2027. For July 2027, she will require a new prescription for Nexguard and Heartguard or Advantage Multi for year-round ongoing preventative treatment.
