Cookie - Schnauzer and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Kalispell, Montana

Meet Cookie!

This dapper gentleman is still learning that humans can be safe, but he's beginning to open up quickly with our staff here. Cookie would do well with a housemate and someone who can take the time to earn his trust. Cookie doesn't seem to mind affection but will need a slow approach. Cookie will likely do better in a home without children and may need a few visits before he's ready to go home.

Please note that the Schnauzers in our care do not appear to have had lots of human handling, so they are still learning to trust people. We are working with them to create positive associations with touch and are hopeful that the right homes will continue these practices.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.

The schnauzer is a versatile and intelligent dog breed known for its distinctive beard and eyebrows. They come in three sizes - miniature, standard, and giant - each with their own unique personalities and characteristics. Schnauzers are loyal, playful, and make excellent family pets. They require regular grooming to maintain their wiry coat and love to be included in activities with their human companions. With proper training and socialization, schnauzers can thrive in various roles, from loving companion to skilled working dog.
