Hildie - Schnauzer Dog for Adoption in Coeur D'alene, Idaho

Meet Hildie! She is a purebred spayed female Standard Schnauzer (very small for a St). She is 9 yrs old and has had a rough couple months. First her "dad" passed away and then her "mom" was moved into a memory care facility and the caretaker reached out to us to rehome Hildie. No Family members were able to adopt her. She is now here in Rescue and I imagine it won't be for long!! She's a beautiful dog who has had the best care her whole life. She is an alpha female and is initially growly with new dogs but reportedly settles and becomes playful eventually. She did live with another dog, who was given away to someone else. She cannot be around small furries like cats, rabbits or chickens she has a high prey drive. She is reliably housebroken and uses a bell to let you know when she needs out. She comes with her crate and bed and a small supply of the Farmers Dog food she's used to eating.

The schnauzer is a versatile and intelligent dog breed known for its distinctive beard and eyebrows. They come in three sizes - miniature, standard, and giant - each with their own unique personalities and characteristics. Schnauzers are loyal, playful, and make excellent family pets. They require regular grooming to maintain their wiry coat and love to be included in activities with their human companions. With proper training and socialization, schnauzers can thrive in various roles, from loving companion to skilled working dog.
