This 5-year-old certified Very Chonky Gentleman is on the lookout for a new human to love after losing his previous owner. Despite life throwing him a curveball, his heart is as full as his adorable, round little belly. He’s a low-energy, go-with-the-flow kind of guy—the type who believes life is best enjoyed from a cozy couch, preferably snuggled up right next to you. He’s incredibly sweet, a little shy when meeting new people, but warms up quickly into a loyal, affectionate cuddle buddy. Don’t let the chonk fool you—this rotund little man is surprisingly agile! He hops on and off the couch and bed with ease (yes, he fully expects to sleep with you at night). He walks beautifully on a leash, rides like a pro in the car, and is perfectly housebroken. No crate needed—he’s a respectful houseguest who doesn’t get into trouble when left alone. He’s currently living with other dogs and mostly just... ignores them. Honestly, he’d thrive as your one-and-only, soaking up all the love and attention he deserves. All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped.

The Schipperke breed is a lively, small sized dog originating from Belgium. Known for its black coat and fox like appearance, the Schipperke is characterized by its fearless and independent nature. These intelligent and curious dogs are loyal companions, often forming strong bonds with their owners. Though they are small in size, Schipperkes have a big personality and require plenty of mental stimulation to keep them engaged. With proper training and socialization, the Schipperke can make a wonderful family pet for active households.
