Nico - Rottweiler Dog for Adoption in Polk, Ohio

Here’s an updated version with Nico’s working-breed needs made very clear while keeping his playful personality.

# Meet Nico!

Hey, I’m Nico! I’m a young, handsome Rottweiler with brains, energy, and plenty of personality. I’m ready for walks, training, playtime, and spending time with my favorite people.

But here’s something you need to know about me: **I AM A WORKING BREED!** I need a daily job to be my best self. I’m smart, strong, curious, and eager to learn. I need more than a backyard and a few toys. I need a person who will challenge my brain, channel my energy, and help me reach my potential.

What kind of job? You name it!

- Jogging or hiking partner
- Scent work
- Rally obedience
- Advanced training
- Therapy dog work, if I’m suited to it
- Any appropriate activity that gives me a purpose!

**I cannot be left home all day with nothing to do.** If I’m bored and under-stimulated, I’ll find my own job—and trust me, it might not be one you approve of! I need an active, involved owner who wants to work with me every day.

I do well with female dogs around my size, but I’m **not a fit for homes with cats, small dogs, or other small animals.** I’m strong and can get enthusiastic, so I need someone experienced who can provide consistent training, structure, and clear boundaries.

Underneath all that Rottweiler attitude is a boy who wants his own person. Give me leadership, patience, exercise, and a purpose, and we can build an incredible bond together.

## MY MUST-HAVES

- **An experienced owner** who understands Rottweilers and working breeds.
- **A daily job!** Hiking, jogging, scent work, rally, training, or another suitable activity that gives me purpose.
- **Daily mental stimulation.** My brain needs a workout just as much as my body.
- **Consistent training and clear boundaries.** I’m still learning, and I need someone willing to teach me.
- **An involved family.** I cannot spend all day alone with nothing to do.
- **Daily exercise, play, and meaningful interaction.**
- **A compatible female dog around my size may be a good fit**, with proper introductions and management.
- **A lifelong commitment** to helping me become the amazing dog I’m capable of being.

MY MUST-NOTS

- **No cats, small dogs, or other small animals.**
- **No inexperienced owners** unprepared for a strong, energetic working breed.
- **No home where I’m left alone all day with no activity or purpose.**
- **No expecting a backyard to be enough.** I need structured exercise, training, and mental work.
- **No hands-off approach.** I need daily involvement and guidance.
- **No inconsistent rules or lack of boundaries.**
- **No family expecting a perfectly trained dog right out of the box.** I’m still learning!

## READY TO BE MY PERSON?

I’m not looking for just any home. I’m looking for someone who wants a partner—not just a pet. Someone who will give me a job, challenge my mind, work with me, and help me succeed.

If you’re ready to put in the work, I’ll be ready to meet you halfway. Let’s turn all this Rottweiler potential into something amazing!
