Adoption Information

Please note: Because of their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5.

If you live in the immediate Austin area and are interested in adopting from Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and Other Petite Paws, please visit http://www.lilpaws.org to fill out an application. Unfortunately, a Petfinder Inquiry does not fulfill our application requirements.

We do not have a physical facility — all of our dogs live in loving foster homes.
Lil’ Paws is a small, all-volunteer organization. To best use our limited time and resources, we are only able to correspond with individuals who have submitted an adoption application from our website.

We encourage you to visit with our dogs and their fosters, by planning to attend our Meet and Greet Events which are held on the first Saturday of each month at the Pet Supplies Plus in Round Rock from noon to 2 p.m. We suggest you check our website for exact dates.

We are only able to adopt our dogs to those living within the immediate Austin area. Our local only adoption requirement is due to the thoroughness of our process, which includes home visits and a trial adoption period to ensure the dog has adjusted well. With our team of volunteers, it is not possible to conduct these steps outside our area. Even if you are willing to travel, we must keep our efforts local to maintain the integrity of our process.

Our mission is to place our dogs in safe, stable, and loving homes within the Austin area. Thank you for understanding and for supporting rescue!

Supporting Lil’ Paws

Lil’ Paws Maltese Rescue and Other Petite Paws relies on donations to provide the medical care our dogs need before adoption. Every pup receives essential vetting such as spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and dental care — and many require additional or even major medical treatments.
Your donations make this possible. If you’d like to help us continue rescuing and healing dogs, please visit our website and click the Donate button. We are deeply grateful for your support!
