Peaches - Poodle Dog for Adoption

One tooth . Elderly. Not even 6 lbs. Heart disease. Perfection

That sums up our tiny lovable toy poodle Peaches. No further bio needed, just apply now Email njwoof@cs.com to meet her in Northern NJ

We know our standards of perfection are a little different But we are looking for someone with our kind of taste that immediately says I NEED that dog in my life. JUST LOOK AT THAT TONGUE

She was originally a breeding dog apparently, adopted by an elderly owner with health issues who couldn’t care for her. She was very loved, spoiled and doted on by her mom and became quite the little terror for the rest of the family that was trying to care for her, chasing away anyone else who came anywhere near mom barking ferociously non-stop with her single threatening tooth. Once away from her person and out of the house, she’s a quiet timid little purse dog that loves to go everywhere with you. She barks when left alone and can make a lot of noise for such a tiny magical creature but as long as she’s with you, on your bed, cuddled next to you she’s content. She is great with other tiny dogs and seems more comfortable with them around, uses wee wee pads but may have accidents. She has a loud heart murmur but stable heart disease and is on 2 medications to control it longterm and will need regular rechecks to monitor. She’s looking for an adult home preferably with just one woman to bond to, other gentle small dogs ok.

Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
