Meet Jax!

This handsome 9 year old black and tan mini smooth purebred dachshund was surrendered due to family changes and no fault of his own. He’s a healthy “young senior” with beautiful teeth and is only middle aged for his breed, and will hopefully live well into his late teens.

He’s a lovable loyal little guy with a big doxie attitude and thinks he’s really tough barking at strangers, and gets protective of his chosen person. But he warms up and bonds very quickly, was housebroken and crate-trained in his previous home (but spent way too much time crated it sounded like). He’s had limited experience with other dogs but has really liked meeting them so far... really really likes the girls especially and is a bit of a flirt but he’s getting neutered this week! 11 lbs, updated on shots and looking for an adult home that understands the breed and their quirks and medical needs (keeping them lean and protecting their delicate backs from too many stairs or jumping off furniture).
