Meet Fillmore!

Fillmore is a 8-9 year-old, 13-pound Shih Tzu mix with a huge personality and an even bigger heart! Despite having very limited vision, this happy little guy doesn't let anything slow him down. He's curious, playful, affectionate, and almost always has his tail wagging.

Fillmore loves exploring, sniffing around the yard, playing with other dogs, eating, and finding a cozy lap for a nap. He's very food motivated and has quickly learned the layout of his foster home, navigating stairs, furniture, and his surroundings with impressive confidence.

Fillmore would love a canine playmate and enjoys having other dogs around. Because of his limited vision, he does best with people who understand that he needs communication through voice, sound, and touch rather than visual cues. A securely fenced yard is essential, and young children may be too unpredictable for him.

He can be a little vocal when excited--especially when meals or playtime are involved--and he may occasionally voice his opinion when he thinks he's been unfairly corrected. 😉 But underneath all that personality is an incredibly sweet, resilient little dog who has adapted beautifully to his world.

Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200.
