This sweet boy came from a challenging background, but he's blossomed into the most loving companion you could ask for. Thistle is a devoted lap dog who loves nothing more than being close to his people. Once he warms up to you - and he absolutely will - he becomes a shadow, never straying far from your side. He's happiest cuddling on the bed, sitting on your lap, or simply being near you. His shyness is part of his charm, and his curiosity about the world is endearing. While he can be a bit jumpy initially, he's never aggressive, just cautious and sweet. Want to win Thistle over instantly? Cheese is the way! He also loves treats, toys, and bones, making playtime and bonding moments extra special.

Thistle would thrive equally well in a family home with older children or dog-savvy kids that understand his shy temperament or as a companion to a single person or couple. The only requirement is people who are willing to be patient as he adjusts and comes out of his shell. Thistle is house-trained with dog door experience; he will also go to the bathroom on a potty pad inside, if available. He gets along well with other dogs but would be fine as an only dog; he's curious about cats but loses interest after meeting them.
