Mozzarella - Poodle and Husky Dog for Adoption in Bellingham, Washington

Hi, my name is Mozzarella ! I'm a RED pawprint, which means I need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Energetic, silly, super smart, shy but learning to trust!
-Can Live with Kids: Based on what we've seen in shelter, we feel Mozzarella would do best with older, dog-savvy kids who can read/respect his body language and not overwhelm him with too much handling. At this time we're recommending ages 16+.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history, will need slow, supervised introduction.
-Can Live with Dogs: No. While Mozzarella did come to WHS with another dog, interactions with new dogs have not been successful. Mozzarella appears to be under-socialized with other dogs. He would benefit from responsible socialization with the help of a trainer.
-Can do Apartment Living: No thanks, this active, high energy guy is accustomed to living mainly outdoors in a fenced yard and would not thrive in apartment settings.
-Potty Trained: Appears to be!
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, one private lesson to help with confidence and socialization!
-Energy Level: High
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Neuter/microchip
-Additional Information: Mozzarella is a super high energy, super smart pup who came from less-than-ideal circumstances. On arrival, he was severely matted with an overgrown, urine/feces-soaked coat to the point a full shave-down was necessary for medical reasons. During this grooming session, we found a collar embedded into his skin, and a before/after weight check showed he lost SEVEN pounds in just fur alone. Now that he's looking and feeling 100x better, his personality is really starting to shine and he's ready to find a forever family that will provide him with love and appropriate lifelong care. Mozzarella is understandably a little sensitive to some basic handling and would thrive in a home that can continue working with him to help him learn some of the basics. As far as we know he does not know any cues (like 'sit' or 'down') but thankfully he's incredibly smart and food motivated, so should be able to catch on in no time. Reportedly, Mozzarella is a Poodle/Husky mix, which if you know anything about either of those breeds, makes for quite the interesting combination. Incredibly smart, incredibly energetic, and will need PLENTY of exercise and more importantly, mental stimulation to be happy (and stay out of trouble!) Someone experienced with either of these breeds would be great, although not required. Regular brushing/grooming will also be key in this guy's health/wellbeing.
