Poodle and Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption in Ellicott City, Maryland

If you are looking for a chill little dude, Houston is your guy! Don’t get me wrong, he has plenty of puppy playfulness but as far as young puppies go, Houston is a pretty laid-back guy. He is the most chill of his litter of six although he loves joining in the wrestling, tug-of-war and chasing toys.

His mom is a poodle, possibly poodle mix. There is a photo of Houston with his mom. His mom was rescued from the streets of Texas and came to her foster home when she was pregnant. The six puppies were born in their foster home and have been raised as part of the family.

Houston is looking for a forever family who is ready for the joy and excitement of an adorable puppy and the needs that come with a young puppy such as time, training and cost. This puppy will most likely need grooming regularly.

PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing or "inquiring" is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog.

The adoption fee is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior by the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is by 7 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped.

We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment ($20 surcharge on a credit card or paypal)
