Meet Oriette! Oriette is an 8 year old female pomeranian and she weighs about 10 pounds. Oriette arrived in rescue after coming from a puppy mill in a rural area during winter. She arrived heart worm positive, but has undergone treatment and is doing great! She has settled into foster care nicely and has been loving learning how to "dog". Her foster mom says: Meet Oriette — your shy little shadow with a heart just waiting to open. Oriette isn’t the dog who will sprint into your arms on day one — and that’s exactly what makes her so special. She’s gentle, observant, and a little unsure of the world at first. If you’re looking for instant affection, she’s not your girl. But if you’re willing to invest a little patience, what you’ll get in return is something deeper: a bond that’s truly earned. Oriette feels safest watching from the sidelines, quietly taking everything in. But with encouragement, consistency, and a bit of gentle “push,” she’s already come so far. She’s learning that people can be trusted, that couches are for cuddling, and that being close to her person is actually pretty wonderful. These days, her favorite place is right next to you — especially if there’s a TV involved (yes, she’s officially a professional binge-watcher). She thrives on routine and companionship. I work from home, and you’ll usually find Oriette curled up under my desk or relaxing alongside her foster siblings. She absolutely adores other dogs and takes a lot of comfort in their presence, so a confident canine companion in her forever home would help her continue to grow. Oriette will need a home that understands her pace. A secure, fenced-in yard is required since she isn’t fully leash-trained yet, though she is making progress with a harness. She is crate trained and mostly house trained as long as she’s let out consistently. She eats well and does great with regular grooming, including brushing and nail trims. More than anything, she needs a family with patience, kindness, and a little extra time to help her continue building confidence.
Oriette isn’t for everyone — but for the right person, she’ll be everything. Watching her come out of her shell and choose you as her safe place is something truly special. Oriette is spayed, up to date on vaccines, on flea and heart worm prevention, microchipped and has had her teeth cleaned!
