Walter got his second chance at life this January after being rescued from a heartbreaking situation. Once skin and bones, this resilient boy has proven that no matter where you come from, your story can still have a beautiful next chapter.

Walter is currently heartworm positive, has significant vision loss (about 80%), and is bravely battling cancer—but you’d never guess it from his spirit. He doesn’t let anything slow him down. Walter loves to socialize, go on adventures (he even explored the Rocky Mountains!), and is perfectly content soaking up the comforts of home life right by your side.

Despite his diagnoses, Walter is doing incredibly well and truly living life to the fullest. What he wants most now is a home of his own—a place where he can feel safe, loved, and continue discovering how good life can be.

Walter is dog-friendly but, due to his vision loss, can miss social cues—so he’ll need a patient, tolerant canine companion. He will need a cat-free home, and all humans must be ages 13 and up.
