DESCRIPTION

Looking for a SWEET YOUNG POCKET PITTIE?

Looking for a new companion? best friend? snuggle buddy???? Look no further...Meet Ricky. He is a SMALL 35 pound 1 year old exceptionally friendly and joyful dog who craves human companionship. He is a true "velcro dog" who loves being with his person. Ricky is housebroken and despite having a tad bit of separation anxiety will go into his crate and settle with a toy or a bone. At this point, he has been spending the night in the crate, but we are certain he would rather be sleeping in somebody’s bed. He certainly doesn’t take up that much space at only 35 pounds and he is quite the snuggle buddy, but because he is part (some kind of) Bulldog, he does have a little bit of a snore.

**Something interesting to note is he genetically carries a blue eye gene as one of his eyes has a stripe of blue- known to be good luck (prob from a bull dog gene) called partial heteochromia

As much as Ricky likes to be next to you on the couch, he is not always a couch potato. He loves chasing a ball going for walks and will need daily activity. He walks nicely on a leash. He’s a very young dog (1-2 yrs) and could use some basic training. He responds really well to positive training. He certainly loves his treats. He has learned sit and his recall is amazing, but he needs some indoor house manners as far as jumping up on couches, etc. He is quite nimble for a little guy that’s below the knee! He really is a tiny little guy with muscles.

Applicants must have a flexible schedule where someone is home most or all of the day (e.g., work-from-home or retired) Ricky is not an independent dog that wants to be left alone. He really loves people and has not met a single stranger.

A home with a securely fenced yard is highly preferred so he can safely explore, but if you are committed to giving him a few walks a day or have a park where he can chase a ball -that is acceptable as well.

The most important thing is we want someone to commit to being this guy‘s best friend, someone he can count on ! We need to set him up for success after everything he’s been through. No dog should have to wander the streets of New York City wondering where his home is.

Let’s find Ricky the perfect home. Please share or reach out to us if you are interested. Ricky can be met at the foster’s home in Greenwich after filling out our ‘very’ short application and phone interview.

He is neutered and fully vaccinated as well as tested negative for heartworm and microchipped! ** VERY HEALTHY his eyes were also checked out! He is playful with larger dogs can hold his own- plays like a puppy, he can be rough so a 'neutral playful' dog is a must if you have a dog. Prob too energetic to live with tiny dogs or cats.
