Maple - Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in Shakopee, Minnesota

Hi! I’m Mabel, a young beautiful Pitty mix weighing about 45 pounds. I’m an affectionate, curious, and confident girl looking for my forever home.

I love watching squirrels and birds, playing with tennis balls and toys of all kinds, and enjoying a Kong filled with frozen treats. I also love car rides and will happily curl up on the seat and snooze.

I’m house trained and kennel trained, and I do great in my kennel! I’m used to relaxing in there while my foster family is at work. At night, I can sleep outside of my kennel and do just fine. I also know how to sit for treats and am working on my other basic manners.

I have a medium energy level and enjoy walks and playtime, but I settle down nicely when it’s time to relax.

I currently live with another dog and have regular dog visitors. I do best with slow introductions to new dogs so I have time to feel comfortable. Cats are still unknown, and I’d likely do best with older, respectful children.

I’m still working on not jumping when I’m excited and being less mouthy during play. I can also be protective of my food, so I’ll need continued consistency and training.

One last thing about me: I was left behind by my previous owner here in Minnesota and wasn’t in the best condition. I’m learning to trust again and getting healthier and more confident every day.
