Meet Riley!
Riley and her pup Waylon came to B&B all the way from Church Point, Louisiana, after being found as strays. Riley is spayed and up to date on vaccines - and is heartworm positive. She just finished her heartworm treatment and we can't wait until she's heartworm free! Her adoption fee covers her heartworm re-check in 6 months.
Riley is the sweetest girl with a whole lot of energy packed into a pint sized body. She is eager to please and loves her treats and puzzles so she will be a fast learner when it comes to training. She is confident, smart, cuddly and loves meeting new dogs and humans...the total package! Vacuums, cars, loud noises? No problem for Riley! She would do great in an active household and would love another dog to play with, but she would do fine as an only dog as well! Riley loves car rides, walks, meeting new dogs, playing with her stuffies, being with her humans, and exploring new places to sniff.
She is working on not jumping when meeting people and dogs (she is just so excited!), so she would probably do best in a home with older children (10+). SHe is working hard on her crate training, which we are sure this smart girl will master quickly! She does great on a leash and already knows some basic commands. Riley is a collector of toys, hiking buddy extraordinaire, and can't wait to provide her adopter with constant entertainment and love as their forever shadow!
She is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on core vaccinations, has been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped, and is on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $375. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. To apply to adopt Riley, visit www.beaglesandbentleys.org/adopt.
Note: Sending a Petfinder inquiry is not submitting an application. We require a completed adoption application to move forward with adoption.
Beagles and Bentleys has an across-the-board evaluative process that we apply to every application we review that prioritizes our animals in need. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives, and cats must be altered and up to date on rabies) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
