What we know: Jynx is the sister we didn't originally know about to Mama Winnie, who we pulled from a shelter in early February when she was found to be pregnant. [Winnie's puppies are thriving and will be available after April 27th]. Winnie and Jynx were both heartworm positive, and dealing with a ringworm (fungal) infection, which is what put them on the immediate euthanasia list. So, both Winnie and Jynx will be undergoing heartworm treatment beginning in April. Heartworm treatment takes approximately four months, and then they can be spayed shortly after that. While they cannot be adopted until they're finished with treatment and spayed, potential adopters are welcome to email if interested in fostering through treatment with the option to adopt once eligible; treatment takes place at our vet clinic in Aurora near 225 and Parker Road, and requires three vet visits not including spay. foster@coloradopuppy.org
From the foster: Jynx is about 40lbs, a year old, people and dog-friendly. She's been in shelter and quarantine environments for the past few months while she received ringworm treatment, so she is still settling-in at her current foster home.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Pit Bull Terrier is a resilient and loyal breed known for its muscular build and loving nature. Originally bred for bull baiting and later dog fighting, Pit Bulls today are beloved family pets cherished for their gentle temperament and playful personality. With proper training and socialization, Pit Bull Terriers make affectionate companions that thrive on human interaction. Recognized for their strength and agility, these dogs require regular exercise and mental stimulation to channel their energy positively, reinforcing their reputation as devoted and trainable pets.
