Qwani (Courtesy Post) - Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in Oswego, New York

Qwani's story from his current owner:

"I had adopted Qwani from a neglectful owner in October of last year. Qwani had spent almost his whole time growing up there in a cage covered in his own feces and urine. Never let out for anything and only loved when he was a small puppy. He is now 1 and a half years old. I believe he was born in either January or February of last year. When I adopted him I had lived on a somewhat decent amount of yard/land. It was not fenced and the neighbors were close but I still let him off the leash after walking the perimeter of the lawn and he would listen and always return to my side when asked. At that residence he loved playing tug of war with rope with my husband, playing fetch with my five year old son, and running around the yard. He can be protective of his family, especially when stranger come on the property. He is so lovable and kind. He always came to me whenever I was emotional or sad, he is a great best friend. However due to horrible circumstances of my husband becoming very sick I no longer have the time to give him the attention he deserves. Not to mention the barking and commotion of my son and the dog playing put my husbands heart at risk and he is now confined to my room with a gate at the door.

"I have not been able to take him out for walks since my husband became sick and I need to care for him not to mention he cant take care of our son if I leave the house even for a second. He is being a good and patient boy and using training pads right now. I am so sad to see Qwani in this predicament and I cant just let him live like this.

"He is up to date on his shots however his nails have gotten a bit long. I was supposed to take him into the vet at Liverpool Animal Health Center for heartworm test and nail trim but its hard because we are struggling financially. He has been on flea and tick medicine for the past two months.

"He really is such a good boy and he deserves the world. I love him very much and only hope someone can experience his companionship and love him as much if not more than I can. He does need some manners but he is otherwise very trustful oy commands. I will miss him dearly but I know he deserves better than this."
