FRED - Pit Bull Terrier and Plott Hound Dog for Adoption in Madisonville, Louisiana

Hi, My name is Fred! The ladies at the rescue say that I'm a special boy and they have almost never seen a happier, sweeter, more loving dog than me! When I left the shelter, I showed them how happy I was by rolling around in the back seat and then crawled into their laps to give kisses and saying, Thank you! Thank you! I'm very resilient, and even in the early dark and painful days after surgery, I would wag my tail and put out my good paw for them to hold my hand. I might have a few teeth missing, a little wobbly gait, and a scar or two, BUT... I'm ALWAYS happy, wagging my tail or hopping on all 4 feet in excitement before mealtime. I spend most of my day lounging on the couch or my bed (even better if I'm curled up next to you) but I also like to play with other pups from time to time. I'm also kid friendly, house and kennel trained, so I'm a perfect boy to move right into the family!

My Story... I was pulled from the local parish shelter because I needed amputation surgery from an untreated injury, but thankfully, the rescue Dr's were able to save my leg with hip and knee surgery.

If you want to meet a pup in person, Once Upon a Tail Rescue does adoption events at PetSmart in Covington, LA on most Saturdays with 15-20 of our adoptable dogs and puppies there.

Don't forget to complete your application ahead of time, so you don't miss out on the pup you've connected with. It usually takes 1-3 business days for processing. If pre-approved, you have first priority and can usually take home your new best friend the same day!

**All dogs are required to have complete vet services, including shots, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip, which are included in the Adoption Fee. Some dogs may still require completion of these services due to current age, size, breed and/or health. All vet services must be done at the vet clinic used by Once Upon a Tail Rescue in Mandeville, LA.
