Lad is wonderfully dog friendly and has proven himself to be one of those rare dogs who genuinely seems to get along with everyone. Big dogs, little dogs, playful dogs, mellow dogs, confident dogs, shy dogs... he approaches each one with calm, respectful manners and a sweet nature that helps play and friendship come easily. We simply haven't found a dog who doesn't enjoy Lad's company, and it's easy to see why.
Lad is both house and crate trained, walks beautifully on leash, and has all the makings of an exceptional everyday companion. He rides wonderfully in the car, happily settling in as the perfect passenger prince, ready for coffee runs, weekend adventures, or simply keeping you company during errands around town. He meets new people politely without being overbearing and carries himself with an easy confidence that's refreshing in such a young dog.
At bedtime, Lad might be one of the easiest roommates you'll ever have. If you welcome him into your bed, rather than insisting on taking over, he happily curls up at the foot like one perfectly toasted cinnamon roll, sleeping soundly through the night without causing the slightest disruption. This boy practically comes with guaranteed comfort rather than chaos. He shows up each day with kindness, good manners, a gentle heart, and enough affection to make even ordinary moments feel special.
Because he is still a young pup, Lad occasionally lets his excitement spill over into a tiny bit of playful puppy mouthiness. It is never aggressive or forceful, simply the kind of silly, age-appropriate playfulness that many adolescent dogs naturally outgrow. A gentle reminder is all it takes, and he immediately resets, remembering that games like that are best reserved for his canine friends. At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dogs growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100$1,000+ per dog.
