Hazel Rainbow is the kind of puppy who seems genuinely excited about life. Friendly, affectionate, social, and an absolute bundle of joy, this happy girl loves meeting new people, playing with anything she can get her paws on, and making sure everyone around her gets to see that beautiful smile.

At 5 months old and approximately 20 lbs, Hazel is an altered female Pit Bull Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix and one of the girls from the Rainbow litter. She has such a fun, distinctive look, with brindle markings mixed with adorable cattle-like spots that make her stand out just as much as her personality does.

Hazel is a social little girl who loves meeting new people. She's affectionate and friendly and doesn't mind making new friends along the way. There's a joyful energy about her that makes spending time with her fun—she's curious, engaged, and ready to see what everyone is up to.

Hazel is the puppy who wants to try every toy available. Toss something, squeak something, give her something appropriate to chew on—she's interested. She's playful and active and would make such a fun little companion for someone who wants to head into the backyard and play a good game of fetch.

That love of toys is also a great tool while she's learning her puppy manners. At 5 months old, Hazel is still at an age where puppies can get mouthy, distracted, or make choices we'd rather they didn't. She responds well to correction and redirection, especially when you can show her something appropriate and fun to do instead.

She's also a smart little girl, and treats are a great motivator for her. Food, toys, praise, and positive reinforcement give her future family plenty of options for keeping training fun and rewarding as she continues learning.

Hazel is still working on some of the important basics that come with puppyhood. She's familiar with the kennel, although she did whimper while spending time in it. She'll benefit from continued positive kennel practice and a consistent routine to help her learn that settling on her own is safe and temporary.

Potty training is also still a work in progress. Like her Rainbow siblings, Hazel will need a family prepared to continue what she's started with a predictable schedule, frequent potty breaks, supervision, praise, and patience. She's only 5 months old, and consistency will be one of the biggest pieces in helping everything click.

Hazel doesn't need someone expecting her to arrive as a perfectly trained adult dog. She's a growing puppy who still has things to learn, habits to develop, and plenty of life experiences ahead of her.

What she does need is routine, consistency, continued training, appropriate socialization, plenty of play, and a whole lot of love and support.

And Hazel brings plenty to the relationship herself.

She's the girl who will happily greet a new friend.

The girl who thinks every toy deserves a turn.

The girl who's ready to chase a ball across the backyard and come back looking for another round.

And the girl who seems to do it all with one big, happy smile on her face.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travel safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!

The adoption fee is $1200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
