Meadow Rainbow is the kind of puppy who makes it very clear where she wants to be: right next to her person.

Sweet, affectionate, playful, and full of personality, this girl recently turned 5 months old and is happiest when she's spending time with the people she loves.

Meadow is a Pit Bull Terrier/Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing around 45 pounds. She's part of the Rainbow litter and is growing into a beautiful, sturdy girl with plenty of puppyhood still ahead of her and an enormous amount of love to give.

Meadow loves affection, and she has developed her own funny little way of asking for it. Sitting beside you is great, but sometimes that's simply not close enough. Her preferred spot is standing right in your lap with one of her paws resting against your chest, looking at you as if to make absolutely certain you understand she'd like some attention.

Apparently no one has told Meadow that 45 pounds is getting a little big for a lap dog.

When she's not busy loving on her people, Meadow is a playful girl who loves toys and loves to chew. She's at an age where exploring the world with her mouth is still very much part of puppyhood, so having plenty of appropriate things to chew on is important. If she gets a little mouthy, toys work wonderfully for redirecting her, and Meadow responds beautifully when shown what she should be playing with instead.

Food is another excellent way to get this girl's attention. Meadow can get very excited when something tasty appears, and she's highly food motivated, which can be a fantastic tool for continuing her training. She's still young and has plenty to learn, but treats, positive reinforcement, and consistency can go a long way with a puppy who's this enthusiastic about snacks.

Meadow is already building a nice foundation with some important puppy skills. She’s a social girl who spends lots of time with other dogs and people. She's familiar with the kennel and doing well with potty training, though she'll need her future family to continue reinforcing both with a consistent routine. We are unsure of how she is with cats, so thoughtful introductions are highly encouraged. She also has no issues having her collar or leash put on, which gives her a great start as she continues learning about walks, adventures, and life outside the home.

At 5 months old, Meadow is still very much a puppy. She's going to chew things, occasionally get mouthy, become very excited about food, and need continued guidance as she grows. She doesn't need someone expecting a perfectly finished dog.

She needs what every growing puppy deserves: consistency, routine, patience, enrichment, love, and support.
In return, Meadow has so much affection to give. She's the girl who wants to play with her toys, explore what's happening around her, learn something new for a tasty treat, and then make her way right back to her favorite person.

Because for all the fun things there are to do in Meadow's world, being close to her person still seems to be her favorite.

Whether she's sitting beside you or standing directly in your lap with that signature paw resting on your chest, Meadow has a wonderfully endearing way of making sure you always know how much she enjoys your company.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+.
