Meet Congo! This chocolate coated pooch of about 2-3 yrs of age, has some soulful eyes, and is ready to capture your heart. Congo was tied outside left to fend for himself and it took some time for him to settle into shelter life, and show his personality once he realized that people were there help and not harm him.

Congo appears to have had not much training in leash, so he is quite strong, and is learning the in’s and out’s of leash manners. He is working on “sit” and will be a great candidate for training classes once adopted. Congo does love yard time where he can happily romp around, and then affectionately sit by his person’s side, and engage in all the pets of praise he has come to enjoy.

This guy can use some TLC for his skin/fur, but with the right nutrition, less stress, and a comfy dog bed, that coat will shine even more and he will look stunning.

Congo has had time in the yard with other shelter dogs, and he has some fun dog energy but, that testosterone still kicks in, and he has to be reminded not to be, well, let’s just say it “humpy”. He does correct well and with the right fit, he will learn good play manners. We do require meet/greets with any dog currently in a home.

Congo is ready to embark on a new life where he can be a house dog, hang with his new person, have some adventures, and snooze away on a comfy dog bed. Maybe you can be the once to give that all to him.
