Kaciee's journey began when she was found dumped and alone in the woods. Since coming into rescue, Kaciee has shown us just how resilient she is. She is an incredibly happy, affectionate girl who loves people, especially kids, and brings a lot of joyful energy wherever she goes.
Kaciee is a 2-year-old, 52-pound pit bull terrier returning from professional training with Liberty K9. She has worked hard and made great progress, but her next family will need to continue reinforcing the skills and routines she has learned.
She loves other dogs and does well in structured playgroups. Like many enthusiastic dogs, she can become overly excited when play gets loud or rowdy, especially when another dog squeals, whines or vocalizes. She responds well to interruption and redirection, but her family will need to supervise play and help her take breaks before she becomes overstimulated.
Kaciee thrives when she knows what is expected of her. She needs a home that is comfortable maintaining clear, consistent boundaries through routines, crate time, supervised dog interactions and separate feeding areas. This is not about being harsh with her-it is about giving her the predictability she needs to make good choices and feel secure.
She is crate trained, house trained and has done well around men and children. She has not been properly tested with cats. Because high-pitched noises can trigger her chase instincts, a cat-free home would be the safest fit.
Kaciee is not looking for a perfect family. She is looking for one that will stay consistent, continue her training and appreciate the happy, loving dog underneath all that enthusiasm.
Her placement will be through our foster or foster-to-adopt program and will include a training refresher with Liberty K9. Her next family must be willing to participate, follow the trainer's recommendations and continue giving Kaciee the structure that helps her thrive.
Kaciee has already been abandoned once. Now she needs someone ready to give her a stable home, clear expectations and the chance to keep becoming the very best version of herself.
Kaciee's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue's care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org
