Are you looking for an extroverted, high energy one-year-old who thinks every person and dog is a potential best friend? We have the dog for you! Daphne is fifty pounds of wiggles and love.

Daphne had a rough start in life but despite that, she loves all people and puppies and is 100% affection. There's not an aggressive bone in her body, she couldn't care less if you to touch her mouth, ears, paws and tail . Will back away when you rustle your hands in her food. Takes a downward-facing-dog stance when other dogs want to take charge. She is a world-class gold-medal snuggler. She loves her toys and her walks. She's a fast learner, smart, and eager to please. She loves her high-value treats and, so far, knows sit. She needs daily high exertion exercise and room to run! A short daily walk won't be enough for her.

She would do best in a home with an active family and/or with another active dog. While playful and good-spirited, she is also more powerful than she realizes and needs someone with the physical strength to match. She struggles with jumping and puppy nipping when her people return after being gone for more than 42 seconds. She does not like being alone. If her human worked from home or if she had another dog to stay with her during the day, that would be ideal. She could use help with her puppy manners, she never learned, but again, is so eager to please her people. She rarely barks, except to alert when something is different or new people are entering the house. Daphne is cautiously optimistic in meeting new people and will take your lead.

Note: Daphne has high prey drive and will chase anything that runs or flies: cats, squirrels, chipmunks, and chickens included. She should not be in a home with other small animals. This is a dog with a heart of gold who will love you forever. Currently in a foster home but meet and greets in the capital region are available upon request.
