Meet Lucky and Piper!

A devoted pair of dogs in Ocala, FL, whose steady companionship is a quiet reminder that some friendships are simply meant to last a lifetime. Often found resting side by side, these loyal boys move through each day with a comforting rhythm, offering their future family twice the companionship and plenty of heart!

Lucky is the devoted shadow dog of the duo, an eight-year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix weighing 55 pounds who wants nothing more than to be near his person. Once he trusts you, he gives you everything, sitting close with his tail wagging and his whole heart in his eyes. Lucky happily follows his person from room to room like a shadow. He knows sit, come, whistle recall, and shake, and thrives with positive reinforcement and treat-based learning.

Lucky needs a securely fenced yard due to his strong prey drive and a home without cats, birds, or small animals. He would do well with a patient, experienced guardian, particularly a woman or female-led family, since he has naturally warmed to women in his life.

Piper is the steady, gentle soul of the pair. A thirteen-year-old Hound mix weighing 68 pounds who moves through the world with a quiet ease that puts everyone around him at ease. Friendly with dogs, children, and people, Piper appreciates soft beds, predictable routines, and peaceful time with his favorite companions. He also manages dermatitis, which can cause itching and hot spots and may require special care.

Both boys take medication to manage anxiety during severe weather and fireworks. They adapt well, enjoy twice-daily walks, and are good water dogs, adding opportunities for fun adventures together! Both are microchipped, current on parasite prevention, receive routine veterinary care, and are in great health.

Lucky and Piper need a new loving home with a securely fenced yard, continued veterinary commitment, and a family who will honor their meaningful bond by keeping them together. Their loyalty, gentle companionship, and remarkable trust make this pair a joy to know!
