OVERDUE - DEAF
Schaumburg, IL
Tori might just be that unicorn dog everyone hopes to find
This petite teen girl loves pretty much everyone she meets — people, dogs and even cats. She’s playful and energetic, loves walks and yard time, and once she’s had a chance to get her wiggles out, she’s more than happy to settle in for cuddles and kisses.
And there’s something else special about her: Tori is deaf. She seems completely unfazed by all the barking around her kennel and doesn’t respond when people try to get her attention with sounds outside.
Tori is an incredibly smart and sweet hazel-eyed girl who responds well to training. She still has some puppy behaviors to work on, but with consistency and lots of affection, there's no question she'll thrive.
This adorable sprite has gorgeous hazel eyes and one brown ear. We think she may be deaf; she seems oblivious to the barking in the kennel and any attempts to get her attention with noise outside.
She is super friendly and was excited to get out of the kennel, jumping up for attention and showering us with kisses. After some time outside and a chance to play with some toys, she settled down and had some nice relaxation time.
Teeth - bright white, new adult teeth
Body condition - good body condition. Still has puppy nails. A little dirty.
Touch - very good with being touched all over while we were checking her out. Readily accepts petting.
Walking/Leash - she’s a young girl who probably has not been taught her leash manners yet. She does like to zigzag around, but is otherwise manageable.
Treats/Toys - take treats gently and loved playing with toys, especially a ball. Could easily retrieve toys from her.
Dogs - Tori did so well meeting other dogs. She was very calm with our tester dog Tucker that she got to go in a nice long walk with him. She even got to meet a small female after that and was so polite even though the small dog wasn’t sure. She just sat down and eventually just laid down without bothering the little dog.
Tori also met big beefy boy Barney and was very playful with him. We even got to hear her first bark when she was playing with him
Cats - Tori met tester kitty Rosie and after some initial interest checking her out in the carrier, she wasn't that interested once she was on the cat tree or being held. She put her paws up on the cat tree once but was more interested in the lower levels and then sat politely looking at Rosie before returning her attention to the people in the room.

Our application: https://laststoprescue.com/adoption-app/
If you're interested in donating, sponsoring or volunteering please visit us at www.LastStopRescue.com or follow us on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/Laststoprescue.il
We treat these dogs as individuals with needs and to that end all of our dogs will have been in fosters no less than two weeks, they will have at least started training if not attend weekly classes and get daily training at home with the fosters!
Which means our longest residents will be the best trained, as long as they're with us we're going to keep socializing and working through any issues they may have.
When you adopt from us you will have a very clear picture of the dog you're meeting and on going support!
Our Fees are as follows:
Senior dogs over 7 are $450
Adult dogs are $650
Puppies under 1 year are $800
Specific breeds are $900
With each adoption you will be...
1. Given up to four hours of free training (from the foster and coordinator),
2. Full medical report of all findings,
3. All of the supplies needed for a new dog as we attain these for the care of each dog,
4. A full run down on their behavioral status, where they started, where they are and how far is left to go. This will be detailed in a training plan from us about what they can or cannot handle well and it will be discussed as much as needed.
We fully vet all of our dogs which is reflected in our adoption fee. On average we will pay about 600 dollars in medical per dog. Every dog gets a full blood panel, fecal/urine check, heartworm & tick panel and treatment if required, spayed/neutered, all shots and boosters, along with anything specific to their needs.
