This girl wakes up every morning ready to squeeze every last drop out of life and honestly? It’s impossible not to smile around her. Dottie Sue is the type of dog that can turn ordinary moments into fun ones without even trying. she is all wiggles, kisses, confidence, and excitement. She has the kind of personality that fills a room immediately and the type of enthusiasm that makes even the most ordinary Tuesday feel like an event. Between the goofy antics, the endless love she has for her people, and the fact that she literally throws a ball for herself when nobody else is available, Dottie is one of the most entertaining little characters we’ve met in a long time.
Watch her video and prepare to immediately understand why everyone falls for her: https://youtu.be/7qEiQMhF88k?si=94n1EdPfbHj7on8H
Dottie Sue is believed to be a pittie mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 33 lbs. She is the perfect combination of sweet, silly, athletic, and affectionate. She’s the type of dog that plays hard, loves hard, and fully commits to absolutely everything she does. Dottie is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age.
One of her foster’s favorite things about Dottie is how confident and trusting she is. New people? Awesome. New places? Sounds fun. New adventures? Count her in. She approaches life with this joyful confidence that makes her incredibly easy to bring along for the ride. She absolutely loves people and greets guests with enthusiasm, kisses, and the assumption that personal space is completely optional LOL. If you're sitting on the couch, just know Dottie considers that an invitation.
Now let's talk about this girl's favorite hobby: BALLS. Not fetch. Not chasing balls. Balls in general. Dottie has somehow figured out how to entertain herself by throwing a rubber ball into the air and then chasing it around the yard like her own personal game of fetch. It is honestly one of the funniest things ever to watch. She also loves tug toys, durable chew toys, and has never met a stuffed animal she couldn't absolutely destroy. If you enjoy interactive dogs that love to play, Dottie will be right up your alley.
With other dogs, Dottie is incredibly social and playful. She currently lives with another female dog and absolutely loves having a playmate around. Her play style is energetic, vocal, bouncy, and full of wrestling, zoomies, and chase games. She can sometimes get so excited about playing that she forgets not everyone wants to keep going forever LOL. Because of that, her ideal doggy match would be another confident dog that either loves to play just as much as she does or isn't afraid to politely tell her when playtime is over. Dottie responds well to dogs that communicate clearly and help keep play balanced.
As far as cats go, Dottie is very curious and interested in them. She has lived around cats and takes corrections from them, but when she gets excited she sometimes mistakes their corrections as invitations to play and may chase them. Because she's a sturdy little tank with a lot of enthusiasm, we think she'd be happiest in a kitty-free home.
Dottie is crate trained, potty trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and settles nicely at night in her crate. She loads into the car by herself, unloads like a pro, and is always ready for the next adventure. She walks well on leash, isn't bothered by traffic noise, and handles new situations with confidence. Whether it's a road trip, a hiking trail, a brewery patio, or a weekend camping trip, Dottie seems like the type of dog that would happily tag along.
Energy-wise, Dottie is definitely not looking for a sedentary lifestyle. Her foster currently gives her multiple walks a day, yard time, and plenty of opportunities to play, and she still manages to zoom around the house making her own fun. The good news is that once she's gotten her exercise, she settles beautifully. After an afternoon nap you'll often find her rolled over belly-up requesting rubs, cuddles, and affection. She's got a wonderful off-switch once her physical and mental needs have been met.
Dottie's ideal home would include a securely fenced yard, an active family, and plenty of opportunities for adventure. We think she'd do best with older kids because she's such a happy enthusiastic little girl and may accidentally knock over tiny humans in her excitement. She'd make an amazing hiking buddy, road trip companion, fetch partner, and family dog for people who appreciate a dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart.
At the end of the day, Dottie is the kind of dog that makes life more fun. She's goofy, athletic, loving, entertaining, affectionate, and endlessly optimistic. If you're looking for a dog that will make you laugh daily, keep you active, and then curl up next to you for belly rubs at the end of the day, Dottie Sue might just be your perfect match.
