I came to the shelter as an owner surrender, but it was no fault of mine or my sister’s. I loved my people dearly, and after losing them, I became very attached to my sister. Unfortunately, my sister has now left the shelter and gone to her forever home. While I’m happy for her, I’ve been a little sad without her.
Since then, I’ve started going out in play groups with other dogs, and I’ve found out that I really enjoy it! I’m also good on a leash and housetrained, even though I was an outside dog. I haven’t shown any aggression toward dogs, cats, or people and have been a sweet dude with everyone I’ve met.
I’ve also started playing a little game of “Ring Around the Rosie” here at the shelter. It seems like every time they put another dog in my kennel with me, that dog gets to go home! So I keep getting new kennel mates while I’m still waiting for someone to pick me. I’m starting to think maybe I need to stop being so good at helping everyone else get adopted and save a little of that luck for myself!
I’ve watched my sister find her forever home, and now I’m hoping it’s finally my turn. I’m ready for a family of my own and a place to call home.
