Luffy is around 3 years old and 65 lbs of energy, enthusiasm, and loyalty. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be involved in everything you do. He thrives when given structure, training, and outlets for both his body and mind. Sitting around all day? Not his style.

What we’ve learned about Luffy is that he is incredibly trainable and eager to engage. He is extremely food motivated (frozen meatballs are currently a favorite), highly social when out and about, and genuinely enjoys interacting with people and other dogs. He’s been working hard on his manners and has already made huge progress with jumping and impulse control in foster care.

Luffy is the type of dog who wants direction. Once he has it, he shines.

He loves:

• Mental enrichment and scentwork

His foster describes him as a phenomenal dog with a great attitude who handles frustration appropriately and enjoys working with people. He’s confident, outgoing, affectionate, and very engaged with his handlers.

Luffy can initially be a little unsure when unfamiliar people approach his crate, but he recovers quickly and becomes social once he’s out. He also takes treats enthusiastically, so continued work on gentle food manners will help him continue succeeding.

He would do best with an active, dog-savvy home that understands high-drive dogs and is committed to continuing his training and enrichment. Scentwork, structured exercise, training games, and routine will go a long way in helping Luffy thrive.

Luffy previously lived in a home environment, is house trained, crate trained, loves car rides, and knows several cues already.
