Opal and her brother, Ozzy, came to our rescue as owner surrenders. Born on Dec. 29, 2025, she was part of a litter of four pups. Unfortunately, one of the pups didn't survive and the owners elected to keep one of the pups. With the help of Fix GA Pets and the Shamrock Animal Welfare League of Laurens Co, her former owners had their mother spay.
Opal is a bit on the submissive side but still is very playful and affectionate. She loves playing with other pups and loves showing off her affectionate side to all she meets. While at her former home, she began learning "sit" and other basic commands. With additional training and being very easy to train, she should make a great addition into just about any home.
Opal has already received all three of her first year "puppy" vaccines, been de-wormed and treated against parasites on multiple occasions and started on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Her adopter must agree to having Opal spay once she reaches 6 months old and providing verification of such to our rescue. She will need additional house training.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
