Ronnie is a resilient, athletic, and playful mixed-breed dog who is finally getting the chance he deserves after surviving life on the streets and making it out of a high-risk shelter situation.
Since entering foster care, Ronnie has been decompressing beautifully and showing just how smart, affectionate, and eager to learn he truly is. He loves fetch, squeaky balls, naps, and spending time with his people. He's already making great progress with crate training, leash skills, and learning how to relax and feel safe in a home environment.
Ronnie is currently being fostered by a professional trainer and behavioral consultant who is working with him on confidence, structure, and continuing to help him feel safe in a home environment. The results of this thoughtful, experienced support are already showing in his transformation, and his future adopter will have a great foundation to continue building on.
Ronnie would thrive with an experienced, adult-only home that can continue giving him the consistency, guidance, and structure he needs. He would make an amazing companion for someone active who enjoys hiking, walks, training, or enrichment activities. He is extremely athletic and will require a secure 6-foot fence.
Because of his rough start and ongoing decompression, Ronnie is not recommended for homes with young children at this time. He is still learning about boundaries, handling excitement, and being comfortable alone.
Despite everything he's been through, Ronnie remains incredibly loving, playful, and connected to people. He's looking for a patient adopter who can continue helping him become the amazing dog he's meant to be.
