Personality:
Very personable, confident, always curious, loving, affectionate, cuddly, and playful. She always wants to be where her people are and to see what's going on around her. She is a little meercat girl who loves staying on her hind legs to be taller and closer to her people and to better see what's happening around.

Education:
Although she started potty training recently, she is doing great and has not had any accidents at home for a while! She is good with crate training and walking well on the leash, with occasional pulling to smell something super interesting but continues her walk when called.

Favorite Activities:
Ruby's most favorite thing is to follow her people around and to see what's going on around her. She especially likes standing on her hind legs in a meercat pose to better observe the surroundings and be closer to her people. She loves going for walks, enjoys being with her people, getting pets, cuddling and giving kisses! She loves all food and treats and enjoys getting pieces of apple, banana, zucchini, carrots, and cabbage!

Looking For:
Ruby would prefer an active home, with or without kids, with people who would enjoy snuggling with her and would take her for walks or hikes. She would love having a backyard if possible or at least being able to go to the dog parks. She would do great with another playful pup but can also be an only dog at home.

BIO:
Hi, friends! My name is Ruby, and I'm an almost two-year-old Retriever/Labrador mix, weighing about 33 pounds. I'm a happy, healthy girl who's already been spayed, and I've come all the way from the Bahamas with my sister, Dobby, and brother, Max, in search of our furever homes!

If I had to describe myself, I'd say I'm curious, affectionate, playful, and full of personality. I absolutely love being around my people and always want to know what everyone is up to. In fact, I'm a bit of a little meerkat - I love standing up on my hind legs so I can get closer to my humans and have a better view of all the action. I like to make sure I'm not missing out on anything!

I'm friendly and kind to other pups, although my very favorite doggie friend is my sister, Dobby. We love spending time together! I'm non-reactive around other dogs and do well with furry friends I meet. I haven't had much experience around cats yet but do great around kiddos.

My favorite thing in the world is simply being with my people. I'll happily follow you around the house to see what you're doing, join you for a walk, soak up all the pets you're willing to give, and hand out plenty of kisses in return. I'm also a big fan of treats! I'm definitely not a picky eater, and some of my favorite snacks are apple, banana, zucchini, and cabbage. Who knew fruits and veggies could be so delicious?

As far as training goes, I recently started potty-training and am doing really well and have not had any accidents at home for a while now!

I'm also crate-trained and sleep peacefully in my crate at night. Sometimes I even wander into my crate during the day on my own when I'm ready for a little nap.

I'm doing pretty well with leash walking, too, although I'm still learning. Sometimes an extra-interesting smell gets the best of me, and I'll pull a little so I can investigate, but I know the command "Let's go" and will continue walking when called. I'm also non-reactive to both people and other pups while out on walks. And another big plus - I don't have any separation anxiety!

Basically, I'm a smart, fun-loving, curious girl who brings lots of affection and personality wherever I go. I love playing, going for walks, and spending time with my humans. I'd make a wonderful walking or hiking companion and would be thrilled to join my family on their adventures.

My ideal home would be an active one, with or without kids, where I'll get plenty of exercise, attention, and love. A backyard where I can run around and get my zoomies out would be amazing, but regular trips to the dog park or other opportunities to play and explore would make me happy, too. I can be by myself or with another playful pup in the home.

If you're looking for a sweet, playful, affectionate little sidekick who will happily follow you everywhere and make sure she never misses a thing, I just might be your girl!
