Moren ACCT-A-257379 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Moren must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER, or ADOPTER by Sunday, August 23rd 2026 at 10AM. Moren is a sweet, happy-go-lucky guy who has a wonderful mix of playful energy and easygoing charm! At around 6 years old, he loves getting outside to explore, sniff around, and take in all the interesting smells. He's also a big fan of toys and has been known to enjoy some fun in the tub! Moren is treat-motivated, loves hot dogs, and takes treats gently-though he may occasionally get a little enthusiastic when he's really excited.
Moren is an absolute pleasure to walk with his harness. He's easy to leash, patient while getting geared up, and has shown that he can walk beautifully with little to no pulling. He's also very easy to get in and out of his kennel and has been described as gentle, well-behaved, and incredibly easygoing. During one outing, he happily spent several minutes accepting pets and leaned his whole body into his handler for affection. He's enjoyed both a day trip and an overnight stay, and he's also participated in nose work, where he got to put that curious nose to good use.
Moren has had several positive dog interactions and enjoys a more energetic, rough-and-tumble style of play. He can be enthusiastic and pushy when playing, with lots of play bows and wrestling, so he would likely do best with a dog who enjoys a similar play style rather than a gentle or dainty playmate. During meets, he has shown loose body language and happy tail wags, and he has been tolerant when another dog became a little mouthy.

Per staff 8/16:
Ears to the side, high tail, able to sniff and was sniffed with a slow feed. When face to face high tail wags, ears to the side, looser body.
Per volunteer 8/14:
He greeted me with a loose and wiggly body and very patiently stayed still while I leashed him. There is a sign on his kennel to use his harness so once I leashed him, I attached the other end of the leash to the harness which he was very patiently still for. Walks very nicely on leash with just minimal pulling. In the play yard he was very interested in exploring all the smells and finding treats. He's pretty food motivated, but not overly seeking them out from me. Didn't solicit out too much attention but took pets from me with a loose body and soft eyes. I kneeled on the ground and he came right up to me and took pets from me for several minutes. He liked to lean his whole body into me. Takes treats pretty gently and sometimes snatches for them when he's really excited. Very easy-going boy outside! Met another dog through the fence who was barking at him and he gave some alert barks, however had a loose body. He went back into his kennel very easily and allowed me to clip his leash while he was drinking water.
Per staff 8/7:
Dog Meet w/ Juice: high tail wags, ears to the side, loose body at the fence. When there was a large amount of space between him and juice, moren would bark and pace the fence line. In the grass yard, high tail wags, ears to the side, loose body. Both dogs did not go in for sniffing, they both came in hot and started play wrestling. Moren was not mouthy, towards the end Juice got mildly mouthy and moren was very tolerating of it. Handlers had to use leash pressure to take breaks in between. Rougher type of playstyle.

Steer Test - Water 3/5, Can 1/5
First dog into yard. Collapsed Trachea but had to take harness off for play group. High tail and ears back at fence greeting. Hackles raised in play yard. Very pushy but lots of play bows and good shake off. Took out of yard because not a good match for gentle and dainty.
Per staff 8/5:
Helped get Moren checked in. ACA lead let me know that she tried just food on the door, bear hug and a muzzle however anytime he felt the need he began to thrash and buck back. Able to place muzzle back on, position him between on two legs and lightly head tap while administering the vaccine in his front leg. After He did a shake off and came over to each person soliciting pets.
Per staff 8/2:
TTA for check in during vet exam today. Thrashing for any level of restraint, would whip around & back himself into corner when attempting to vaccinate, attempted to distract with food (unsuccessful) & muzzled for vaccines (unsuccessful). Some stiff/tense body & whale eyes but would solicit for attention when not attempting medical holding. Started behavior meds

Moren was found on July 31st and was described as being relaxed and was noted to be malnourished.

Complicated URI, concern for infectious pneumonia
8/2:
Moren was found as a stray with significant diarrhea and blood in his stool. He was bright and alert but underweight and mildly dehydrated. His overall exam was otherwise unremarkable, and his Parvo test was negative. He was started on metronidazole for 5 days and FortiFlora for 7 days to help with his gastrointestinal symptoms. Staff were unable to administer fluids due to him not being comfortable with handling, so behavior medications were started.
