Should Oreo Lovely's medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change.
Oreo Lovely is a handsome black and white kitty who was initially surrendered to the shelter in June 2026 as his owner had passed away. He was adopted out at the end of July, but returned within a week for biting and scratching his new adopters. The adopter stated he was not sociable, however, he was only in the home for less than a week, so it's possible he would be more social in home with a longer decompression period.
In the shelter, Oreo Lovely takes some time to adjust, but since his initial arrival at the shelter both times, he really loves to be petted! It's possible that something scared him in his adoptive home, as he has been a good boy in shelter. In his videos below, he shows that he is friendly, likes to be petted, and likes toys and treats. He urgently needs a home with an experienced adopter (preferably in a home where he can be a working cat), or with a rescue who can find him that working cat placement or work with him on his behavior.

Oreo Lovely was on the shelf, lying on his back when I approached. He righted himself as I opened the kennel door but remained lying down. I presented a feather wand, which he sniffed and then lip licked several times. I used the wand to pet his head and back. He was a little tense and lip licked again, but was non-reactive so I pet him with my hand. I felt some mats on his back and saw one hanging from his tail. I presented a Churu, which he began eating. After he ate a good amount, I pet him again on his head and the back of his neck. His tail was slowly flicking back and forth from below the shelf. He was lip licking, but at this point he could have been licking the Churu off his lips. When I stopped petting him, he jumped down from the shelf and approached the front of the kennel. I placed the remaining Churu in his food bowl, and he ate it.
Medical Notes:
Oreo Lovely has some yellowing on his teeth, and has recovered from an upper respiratory infection, but otherwise appears to be healthy!
