Meet Batman 🐾🖤
Batman is a 3-year-old boy who may take a little time to warm up, but once he trusts you, his sweet and affectionate personality really shines. He loves giving kisses to his favorite people and is always ready for some playtime—especially if there’s a ball involved!
Batman has been adopted and returned more than once, most recently because his family felt he needed a more consistent routine, more exercise, and more attention than they were able to provide. He has quite a bit of energy once he gets comfortable, so we think he’d thrive with someone who can spend lots of time with him and keep him mentally and physically active.
One of Batman’s biggest challenges is that he is an escape artist. He has gotten out of yards in the past, so a secure, appropriately fenced yard and strict leash walking are very important for keeping him safe. His previous family was able to let him free roam in the home without him being destructive.
Batman can be shy and anxious when meeting new people. In his previous home, he could become uncomfortable when visitors came over and would sometimes growl or get nippy. They also reported heel-nipping, although we have not seen that behavior here. Because of his anxious behavior, we are not recommending a home with children.
Once Batman knows you, though, you’ll see a very different side of him. He loves treats, enjoys car rides, does well on a leash, and loves playing ball. He has lived with other dogs, including small dogs, and has lived with cats.
We think Batman would do best with an experienced, patient adopter who can give him a consistent schedule, plenty of exercise, lots of one-on-one time, and a secure place to enjoy the outdoors. A big, secure yard would be a huge bonus (with supervision of course!)
Batman is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines.
If you’re willing to give a shy boy the time and consistency he needs, Batman may just become your most loyal companion. 🖤🐾
