Meet Villa Lucia
Some dogs take a little time to trust, and Villa Lucia is one of those special girls who is worth waiting for.
At around 5 years old and 45 pounds, Villa Lucia is a sweet, gentle girl who is looking for someone who will give her the time and patience she needs to feel safe. She can be shy when meeting new people and may take some time to warm up, but underneath that cautious exterior is a loving dog who is just waiting to discover what it feels like to have a family of her own.
Villa Lucia deserves a quiet, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace. No pressure, no expectations — just kindness, consistency, and plenty of love. With time, we believe she will come out of her shell and show her family just how wonderful she truly is.
Villa Lucia will be flying into Morristown, NJ on September 19th. We would love nothing more than for her forever family to be waiting at the airport to welcome her home and begin this new chapter together.
Could you be the patient, loving person Villa Lucia has been waiting for?

About The Sato Project:
The Sato Project has been working hard since 2011 to rescue and rehabilitate the stray dogs of Puerto Rico, known locally as “satos.” To date, we’ve saved over 8,000 dogs and are committed to stopping the overpopulation crisis with spay/neuter and vaccination programs. Your adoption helps us continue this vital work.
