DESCRIPTION

Since I'm a long stay pup, my adoption fee has been reduced! Visit me today to find out my favorite treats and how you can take me home!

My foster writes: Jirachi is an absolute angel. I had him for a borough break and needed to take him out for a straycation. He is loyal, docile, playful, and cuddly. His idea of a perfect day is a long walk followed by couch cuddle time, zoomies/rolling around break, followed by playing with one of his toys. Jirachi is adaptable and smart. If you tell him a rule, he will follow it very quickly and consistently. For example, one told he couldn't climb on a piece of furniture in an office, he didn't try again. He shows his love by cuddling, rubbing his body against you, and rolling around in your presence. He seems house trained though had a tiny accident when separated for the first time. Although Jirachi loves his wet food, he is not extremely treat motivated; pleasing his human is his primary goal. He couldn't care less about small animals, screaming children, thunder, vacuums or other typical dog triggers. He is well behaved in cars and on public transportation. He looks keen to play with other dogs, though didn't get a chance due to foster rules. He is a perfect dog looking for his perfect human.

What my friends at ACC say about me:
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Jirachi is an amazing intro dog. He is amazing on a leash, knows his sit, and becomes loyal to his handler once you give him some time to trust and warm up. Although he was not allowed to play with other dogs, he gave some dogs a play bow outside a fence when he found one he thought could be his friend. He was neutral towards treats, eating only half of his pup cups and accepting only two treats at a time. He loves to sniff the pee-mails, but is easily redirectable. Once child on a passing stroller (approximately 18 months old) reached his hand out to touch him and he didn't even flinch or react. He seemed interested in a dog drinking from a hose, so he may be interested in a nice beach day or playing int he water. He liked to give face kisses when he was thankful but knew when to stop. With Jirachi's temperament and dashing good looks, Jirachi's future family will be very lucky to have him in their lives.

On My #BoroughBreak, We... took Jirachi around Central Park. Jirachi is an incredibly sweet and playful dog. He throws his full body into you for pets. Jirachi gets very excited when he's called a good boy. He obeys commands well. While walking on a leash, Jirachi has a tendency to pull as he is easily distracted and always wants to follow his nose but he is very easily redirected. He shows lots of interest in engaging with other dogs, while not reactive his full attention is directed to any passing dog. He will eat some treats but does not seem very food motivated. Jirachi becomes very quickly attached to his people and will whine if one steps out of his view but he's always thrilled to see them return. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 52.5lbs Age: 2yrs 3mths 0wks Animal has been Neutered

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
