Faith - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in New York, New York

Don't let Faith's age fool you, she loves a game of fetch, long walks around the park, and some water fun. Faith is perfectly house trained and a great communicator when she needs to go to the bathroom. Can be left at home for 4-6 hours. Faith LOVES her treats and thrives best with treat toys and other treat enrichment games. She is a very easy going dog and just looking for someone who can continue to boost her confidence and show her some TLC.

My time with Faith has been so wonderfully sweet. She has the most adorable underbite; she sleeps so deeply all night, having happy dreams. She snores and purrs. She is a world class snuggler- the snuggling is my favorite. She rests her head on my head or lap or stomach and settles in for a relaxing evening. She is chill and waits for me on each staircase landing waiting for the go ahead to keep walking. We are constantly stopped for comments on her cuteness and joyful personality. Faith loves to walk too. She happily wags her tail, stopping to sniff along the way. She prefers A/C to bright sunlight.

Meet Faith, the ultimate cuddly potato puff! I've been fostering this sweet girl for 6 weeks, and she is an absolute delight to be around. Faith is the perfect blend of playful and relaxed; she loves trotting around the neighborhood to collect pets and snacks from the neigborhood "Aunties," but she is always happy to chill out in the park listening to jazz. She has zero prey drive, rarely barks, and greets house guests with perfect manners. She comfortably settles at home alone for 4 hours at a time, though would gladly spend every minute at my side. I have to head back to HI in a couple of weeks to my own dogs, and I miss her already. My biggest wish is that Faith finds the loving, stable home she so richly deserves!!

My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: On my borough break, Faith gave me the sweetest Sunday I could've asked for. It's impossible not to smile around her - her joy is completely contagious. We started with a trip to the pet store where she politely picked out toys and bones like a seasoned regular. Then we headed to Central Park, where she showed off her great leash manners, checked in constantly on walks, and happily worked for treats and basic commands. She was calm around food while I ate lunch, content to curl up under the bench or lean her whole weight against me for pets and scratches (her favorite thing in the world). The highlight of the day was watching her cautiously approach a shallow fountain... only to fully commit and splash around like it was the best day of her life. Everyone nearby was laughing and smiling at her happiness. Afterward, we found a quiet patch of grass where she stretched out for the deepest nap, and it was so easy to picture her in a loving home, snoozing beside her person on a comfy couch. When she woke up, she lazily rested her chin in my hand. We finished the day with a pup cup, which she enjoyed with impressive enthusiasm. Faith is truly such a special dog - sweet, gentle, goofy, and unbelievably affectionate. Between her giant ears, golden eyes, and adorable gummy underbite, she's impossible not to fall for. I genuinely cannot believe she's still waiting for a home. If I didn't already have a resident dog, I would've gone home with her that day. Whoever adopts Faith is getting a best friend who will wedge herself straight into your heart.

A Volunteer Wrote: If you think you're a people pleaser, wait until you meet Faith! This happy go lucky, mellow girl is all about pleasing, and will look sweetly into your eyes every other moment of your walk to make sure she's being a good girl! She's SUCH a good girl! She walks beautifully on a leash, and passes all dogs without a second glance during our time together; when it's time to stop for a rest, she hopped into my lap ever so gently and leaned in for comfort. Faith's former owner says she's playful with kids, and we are so hoping she'll have the chance to show that joyful side of herself again as soon as possible.
