Meet Petal.

She's a beautiful white-and-tan Lab mix, and at the moment she's carrying around a few extra pounds.

We're not judging.

We're simply calling it a temporary snack surplus.

At 45 pounds, Petal is a little more cushiony than she needs to be, but a few good walks, some hikes and a reasonable amount of restraint around the treat jar should have her back to a healthy weight in no time.

And Petal is going to make that easy.

Because this girl loves being outside.

She's happy, healthy, well behaved and ready to enjoy the good life. No puppy nonsense. No toddler-level chaos. No explaining to Petal that the couch is not a trampoline.

She's an adult dog with adult-dog chill.

And then there are those eyes.

Please look at this girl's magnificent bug eyes.

They're enormous.

We suspect these eyes may have contributed to her current snack surplus.

Pure speculation, of course.
