Bayo - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Mississauga, Ontario

Bayo is a remarkably social, affectionate and intelligent dog who seems to take everything in stride. He has a natural confidence around people and is genuinely happy to make new friends. His foster family was especially impressed by how readily he approached his foster dad for affection, as though making new friends comes naturally to him. He does seek out his humans and is quickly learning that he gets more pets when all four feet are on the ground, than when he has paws on your chest. (The "down" command was quickly taught, and he respects that!)

At 77 lbs, Bayo can be considered a big presence, but our sweet boy didn't get the memo: we suspect he is a lap-dog at heart. As he still new around here, we are learning more about what he likes to do! We know he enjoys chilling at home, and his walks are very much appreciated. We look forward to seeing if he will be a weekend hiker, or a farmers market kinda guy. He's discovering the blissful pleasures of home life, from having his own cozy dog bed and a stocked toy basket on hand (current fav = yellow plushy) to regular meals and best of all - human companionship. He's a quick learner, already picking up on household boundaries, and is a pleasure to walk, although squirrels do catch his attention.
He gets along well with other dogs and genuinely enjoys human company. We were not able to cat test him, so that remains a mystery at this time.

Bayo would be a wonderful match for a family looking for an affectionate, engaged companion who enjoys learning and being part of everyday life. He'll appreciate daily walks, playtime and continued positive reinforcement training. A secure yard would be a bonus, so he can chill and romp as he pleases!
