She is very nervous around strangers and needs a quiet, understanding environment where she can set the pace. But don't let her shy exterior fool you-the reward for your patience is absolutely priceless! Once Opal feels secure and lets her guard down, she is such a goofy, playful girl with a massive personality.

One of Opal's absolute favorite things in the world is tennis balls! If you have a tennis ball in your hand, you'll get a front-row seat to her joyful, silly side. She has formed deep, beautiful bonds with our shelter staff, proving that while her trust must be earned, she has a heart full of love just waiting for the right person.

To help her thrive, Opal is looking for a quiet, adult-only home where she can truly feel secure, and she will need to be the only cat or dog in the house. However, there is one very special exception: Obsidian is the only other dog Opal likes! Because they came from the same situation and comfort each other, they would make the absolute perfect pair if you're looking to adopt two best friends together.
