Some dogs come to us with stories we'll never fully know, and Darwin and Darlene are two of them. What we do know is that life hasn't always been kind to these sweet souls. They've experienced more than any dog ever should, and because of that, the world can still feel like a scary place.

These two are deeply bonded and will need to stay together. While they may be timid at first, underneath their cautious exteriors are two gentle dogs who truly enjoy affection once they learn they can trust you. Every small step they take is a victory, and watching their confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding.

Darwin and Darlene are looking for a very special home-one with a secure, physically fenced yard. This is a requirement with no exceptions, as they are not comfortable enough with the outside world to rely on leash walks alone.

They will also need an adopter who understands the commitment of caring for dogs with coats that require regular maintenance. Their coats will need daily brushing and routine coat maintenance at home, along with professional grooming approximately every 6 weeks to keep them comfortable, healthy, and free of painful matting.

More than anything, they need someone with patience, compassion, and the understanding that trust isn't built overnight. They'll need time to settle in, but they are absolutely worth every ounce of love you'll pour into them.
