Chapman was part of play group on 9/22/22. He was high energy, obnoxious, and rude. Very pushy with other dogs when trying to sniff.

Say hi to Chapman, #MASA15676! If you're looking for an adventurous, goofy, affectionate pup, this eleven-month-old, heartworm-negative cutie is just the boy for you!

Chapman had an adventurous Saturday on a foster field trip, and here's what his chaperone said about their day together:

"Chapman was a ball of energy as we were leaving MAS, but he quickly chilled out once we were on the road. He preferred to ride shotgun in the car and easily hopped in and out. He enjoyed putting his paws on my lap as I drove.

We first went to Overton Park and took a long walk to get some of that puppy energy out. Chapman walks well on the leash and doesn't pull too much. He was interested in other dogs we passed but would move along with no issues. I discovered Chapman knows how to sit like a good boy and would do so for treats!

Our next stop was Crosstown Concourse, where Chapman happily ate a pup-sicle from Mempops. He enjoyed hanging out indoors and outdoors at Crosstown Brewery.

Chapman reminds me SO MUCH of our first dog, who we got around the same age. He had a lot of energy when we first adopted him, but he mellowed out as he grew up and is now a great companion (and cuddler!). At times, Chapman has a mouthy playing style, so I personally think he would do best with older kids until he outgrows that habit."

If you're interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing 51 lb. Chapman, email mas@memphistn.gov or meet him at the shelter anytime during our daily visiting hours of 12-4 pm.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
