Izzy - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Lansing, Michigan

Meet Izzy! She is a 5-year-old beautiful girl weighing around 75 pounds who is ready to find a patient and loving home to call her own. Izzy came to us from a local county animal control and has been patiently waiting since June 30th, 2026 for her fresh start.


Izzy has been a little unsure since arriving at the shelter and is still adjusting to all the new sights, sounds, and people. One of the quickest ways to her heart is through treats-they're a great tool for helping her build trust and confidence! Izzy will thrive with adopters who understand that she may need plenty of time to settle into her new home and are willing to let her adjust at her own pace. With patience, kindness, and consistency, Izzy has the potential to blossom into a devoted companion.


We ask that all family members meet Izzy prior to adoption, and we recommend a home with older children who can respect her need for space while she settles in. When meeting other dogs here at the shelter, Izzy prefers slow, thoughtful introductions. With proper introductions, she may do well in a home with canine companions.
