At just about seven months old, Ginger has already been through more than most dogs experience in a lifetime. She came from the same home as our boy Nash. While Nash lived outside, she was allowed inside, but that certainly didn't mean life was easy. She grew up surrounded by chaos and abuse, never really getting the chance to learn what a safe and loving life should look like.
When we took her in to be spayed, we discovered that she had Ehrlichiosis and was critically ill. She was so sick that we nearly lost her. But this little girl fought her way through it and she's still here.
Now, Ginger is trying to figure out what this whole life thing is supposed to be.
And what she wants most is love. She craves attention and will happily soak up every bit you're willing to give her. She's still young enough to be learning that people can be trusted, that home can be peaceful, and that life doesn't always have to be hard.
Other dogs are especially important to her. She finds comfort and confidence in canine friends and truly looks to them to show her the way. A confident, friendly dog in her forever home would be a wonderful gift for this sweet girl.
She is house trained, kennel trained, and enjoys going for walks. She's got plenty of puppy left in her, but underneath it all is a young dog who desperately wants to belong.
Ginger has already survived the hardest part. Now she deserves the chance to learn what it feels like to simply be a loved dog. And maybe the most beautiful thing about her? After everything she's been through, she still believes people are worth loving.
