DESCRIPTION

Meet Ivy, a sweet and gentle 3-year-old weighing 51 pounds. Ivy is a calm, friendly girl who is ready to find her forever home.

Ivy is excited to go out but very easy to get out of her kennel. She walks beautifully on leash, only pulling a little when new smells catch her attention. She is very treat-motivated and gentle when taking nuggies-she even sits and gives her paw for them! She also knows "down" and responds well to commands.

Ivy rides wonderfully in the car. She's not the type to stick her head out the window, but she enjoys the breeze and stays relaxed, lying down most of the ride. She is extremely patient when getting out of the car, waiting calmly until told she can move.

Friendly and well-mannered, Ivy enjoys visits to new places-she was recently calm and happy at Chick-fil-A without getting overly excited. She loves a good belly rub, cuddles, and giving kisses, and she listens well when called. While she is marked as timid, Ivy is really just a little unsure at first; once she tries something, she's completely comfortable.

Ivy is mostly calm and low-energy, though she may show medium energy during play. She's the perfect mix of gentle, affectionate, and easygoing, and she would make a wonderful companion for a loving home.

As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.

To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
