Siena is an incredibly intelligent, affectionate, and loyal dog looking for a home where she can truly shine. She loves being part of the family, whether she's cuddling on the couch, playing fetch, learning new skills, or simply soaking up attention from her people. She just be in child free home or a home with older children (young kiddos stress her, unfortunately). She loves relaxing in the sunshine and one of Siena's sweetest quirks is that she blushes—her white fur turns a soft pink when she's especially excited or happy. She also has adorable freckles and is famous for her joyful backyard zoomies.

Siena knows:

She is exceptionally trainable and genuinely enjoys having a job to do. She has completed professional training and knows an impressive list of commands, making her a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys working with their dog.

She is happiest in a home where someone is around much of the day, as that's what she's always known. She is comfortable resting in her crate for shorter periods, but has never been left crated for an entire workday on a regular basis.

Like many highly intelligent dogs, Siena thrives on structure, consistency, and routine.

Siena can be cautious around unfamiliar people entering her home, and has displayed fear-based defensive behavior towards four unfamiliar visitors. All other visitors have been met with a wagging tail and tons of desired affection. She benefits from slow, structured introductions and thoughtful management while building trust with new visitors.
Because of this, we believe she would thrive with experienced dog owners who appreciate smart, sensitive dogs and are willing to continue providing the structure she's accustomed to.

Siena has environmental allergies that are well controlled with medication. She also experiences anxiety, particularly during fireworks, thunderstorms, and other loud noises. She has not been tested for long distance drives.
One unique management need is that Siena likes to chew and occasionally ingest soft items if left unattended. Because of this, she should only have durable chew toys and should not be left alone with plush toys, blankets, or soft bedding. This routine has worked well in our home and is easy to manage once established.

She also enjoys supervised time outdoors, but should not be left unattended for long periods because she'll happily forage for things she should rather not eat.

She eats Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach (Salmon, Adult Large Breed) and is currently taking Apoquel, Clomipramine, and Gabapentin.

Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Raising The Bar Animal rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).

Our out of state adoption fee is $250 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of departure.
